Motivation
Nthembekoo Phillip Nongqoqo has been a blessing to ACT Logistics for over three years, bringing with him a wealth of smiles, jokes, and wisdom. Raised by his beloved grandmother in the Eastern Cape, Phillip was taught the core values of respect, love, and self-care. These principles have guided him throughout his life, both on and off the road. An avid rugby player in school, he was a fullback—a position he continues to play for his team at ACT, always having their back. The sport taught him to be strong and to “move forward,” no matter how difficult the circumstances.
Phillip’s journey into logistics was born out of necessity. Despite his childhood dream of becoming a policeman, he had to leave school early to provide for his grandmother. His commitment to her well-being was his priority, as he “needed to make sure his grandma had food, a home, and was healthy.” Today, he proudly supports his son, who is studying to become a lawyer, determined to give him the opportunities he didn’t have.
At ACT, Phillip is a key player. His wisdom, encouraging nature, and passion for his work shine through in every interaction with customers and colleagues. He understands the pressures of the logistics industry, often joking, “Today we cry, tomorrow we laugh again”—a sentiment that resonates with many.
Phillip’s dedication to providing professional service, helping his team, and maintaining a positive attitude make him an asset. He never hesitates to get his hands dirty, assisting with loading and offloading, guiding his assistant, or working weekends to help clients with urgent shipments. He also provided valuable mentorship during the company’s recent “Back 2 Basic” Training Day. He is a man of humility and grace. Uthobekile! (English translation: He is humble)
